Sheet No. 23 from a series of 65. The 2 players could not be more opposite: The short, broad-legged, showing off man is about to win the game, his long, shy opponent looks dejectedly into his cards. A. Martinet (1762-1841) published his Grotesque Museum between 1814 and 1830.
Very good conservation.
