Valdai is a city and territory located halfway between Moscow and St. Petersburg. The medieval warriors on the aces especially and in 2 corners of the court cards remind of the paintings of Victor Mikhailovich Vaznetsov (1848-1926). The figures on the court cards wear old Russian costumes, here one thinks of Istorija by Nikolay Nikolaevich Karazin (1842-1908) or of the Russian pack after Dondorf designs. The jokers are dancing female fools in revealing clothing. Limited edition. Min. damaged OCase, almost mint.
