Fernando Pessoa (1888-1935) is nowadays considered as one of the greatest Portuguese lyricists. Remarkable is the extreme splitting of his personality, which he transposed into literature by creating "heteronyms" (persons with an own biography and style) who wrote as well in English as in Portuguese: Charles Robert Anon and Alexander Search on one side, Alberto Caeiro, Alvaro de Campos, Ricardo Reis and Bernardo Soares on the other. The cards show typed extracts of his poetry against the background of photograms (pictures produced by direct impact of light and shadow on the photo paper, i.e. not over a film and a lens). It is available in an English, a Spanish and a Portuguese version.
